Hannah & Eddy: The Wedding!

2013 is just a few days away, so what do you have in-store for your New Year’s Eve?  This will actually be my last post until the New Year as I will be departing for vacation to Puerto Vallarta. My initial plan was to go to New York and spend New Year’s Eve in Times Square with the thousands of die hard people wearing Depends while waiting in the cold for about 12 hours. However, it didn’t work out and Ray and I decided to go somewhere where it is a nice 85 degrees. If you know me pretty well, you will know that I am not a fan of laying out on a beach and lounging around. I need to constantly keep moving and exploring so I am glad that we are going somewhere that has a lot of outdoor activities in store!

So what is in store for 2013 for myself and CCL Weddings? I’ve thought pretty long and hard about our 2013 goals and here are just a few:

  • Spend more time volunteering and doing more for the community near us and further from us. I always loved volunteering and I still have a life goal to start a non-profit organization, so I just need that calling now!
  • Think outside the box and learn new things. I always wanted to learn to do carpentry and glass work and I think 2013 will really be perfect to learn new trades for our weddings!
  • Stop complaining. Yes, I am only human and I do complain about things that don’t go according to plan, so I plan to deal with the “challenge” and try my best not to complain about petty things that are not worth complaining about.
  • Check off 2 things on my bucket list. If you have yet to see my YouTube Video: Spreading Christmas Cheer in Public with a Samsung S3 then I suggest you check it out here! I always wanted to make a public dancing video after seeing this video here and I finally did it this holiday season thanks to a few of my dear friends! Don’t think I am crazy. I just believe it is a little necessary to humiliate yourself and show no shame in order to have a good laugh at yourself. =)
  • Save. Save. Save. Whether it may be to save more money, save water, save time, save the world… the point is to just SAVE anything I possibly can.

Alright, I think that is definitely a lot I just shared about myself and what is in store for us in 2013! Now it is time to share the lovely wedding of Hannah and Eddy. If you do not know Hannah Koo just yet, you should check out her amazing floral design work here! Hannah and Eddy had a beautiful May wedding that entailed some of the most delicate and darling details created by the bride herself. Just wait until you see the “Do-It-Yourself Flower Booth” for guests to pick flowers to wrap and take home. Did I mention the wedding way before Mother’s Day? Because it was so guests were happily picking flowers to take home for their mothers.

Speaking of mothers… CONGRATS to Hannah and Eddy as they are expecting a BABY BOY in June! I’m so excited to meet the little angel =)

Thank you to Christine Farah Photography for these stunning photos (as always)! Happy 2013 New Year’s Everyone! Cannot wait to ring in the New Year!

Sandy & Jon: The Wedding!

Today I would like to share with you a wedding that is beyond words to explain the details that were involved. Pictures definitely do not do this wedding justice because the time, preparation, sleepless nights and labor of love that went into this special day are endless. When I first met Sandy & Jon at Panera Bread I knew it was going to be a lasting friendship! Jon had the most interesting and fun ideas that I left the meeting inspired and excited to start the planning process. And Sandy is the greatest definition of planning a wedding joyfully. She was always excited for every step and would answer emails with so much enthusiasm.

Here is a short list of some of the details of their wedding:

  • Brown paper bagged beer with a custom stamp that says “Our 1st Drink.” It was their first date drink.
  • The stationary design included a bunting banner that was also custom made to hang over their cocktail hour area.
  • “He” & “She” pre-ceremony drinks. Guests were served a korean rice drink for her and a oolong tea for him.
  • Custom made wood stands for a ice cream bar, fried station and beverage bar.
  • Custom grilled cheese station with mini tomato soup shots.
  • The bride collected vintage plates from Southern California to Las Vegas for all the guests.
  • Wrapped bibles were handed to each guest upon departure.
  • Root beer floats accidentally made with coconut pineapple ice cream were a hit!
  • A s’mores roasting station.

Enough words! Let’s move onto the photos taken by the talented Sloan Photographers {Matt & Angie}! Get ready for a photo overload! I couldn’t just pick a few photos =)

Yina & Jeremy: The Wedding!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!

Before I go into the wedding I just wanted to take time to THANK everyone for their continued support and love towards CCL Weddings & Events. It has been a wonderful year, meeting many new clients turned friends and being able to see so much positive feedback from everyone. 2012 has been a very successful year in weddings and we only hope for the very best in 2013. From all us here at CCL Weddings & Events, we wish you the merriest of Merry Christmas’. May this holiday season bring you and your loved ones together for a memorable moment, and may the holiday spirit fill your heart. Merry Christmas!

Now I can begin my post about Yina and Jeremy’s wedding in Del Mar this past year in June. It’s so chilly that I thought I would warm you all up with this ocean side wedding with a theme after the famous Beatles song “Here Comes the Sun.” Yina was actually a high school classmate of mine. Although we never had a class together or never got the chance to chat much, it was a blessing that she chose me to plan her wedding. Many congrats to you again, Yina and Jeremy! And they are expecting a bundle of joy in 2013! Double CONGRATS to you two.

Thank you to Christine Farah for the beautiful images. Just wait until you see the photos below of the gorgeous bride and her bouquet!

Jamie + Lewis: The Wedding!

We will definitely be sharing more weddings and posting more than we ever have all year in the next 2 weeks to make sure all our weddings are featured on the blog. Come back everyday and check out all the wedding details, couples and happenings for 2013.

Today we bring to you Jamie + Lewis’ wedding that took place at Ambassador Campus and The Dorothy Chandler Music Pavilion in Los Angeles. Jamie and Lewis wanted to include a few elements in there wedding that really showed their personalities and interests: food and their love for their respective colleges! It was a warm ceremony in front of over 200 of the couple’s friends and family members, where the Komodo food truck rolled in after the ceremony to cool down the guests with refreshing lychee lemonades and some of the best Asian-inspired street tacos! Guests then drove to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for the reception, where they were greeted with a CAL Blue Lady and a Standford Cranberry Mojito. An extensive dessert station with all of the couple’s favorite sweets were displayed where guests perused through the “Library of Desserts” to find their seats for dinner.

Jamie and Lewis, it was more than a pleasure to work with both of you! I hope to visit Seattle soon so you can tell me all the great spots to eat! Your love for food is beyond what I imagined, and I know your guests definitely left with full bellies! Congrats to you both again!

Thank you to Micah and Megan for capturing the big day!
