• Brown bagged beer with a custom stamp “Our 1^st Drink,” inspired by the couple’s first date.
• Cocktail hour included “HE” and “SHE” grilled cheese sandwiches with creamy tomato soup shots.
• A s ‘mores station for guests to toast their own marshmallows.
• Custom wooden booths (see below) for after-dinner snacks: friend Oreos, Twinkies and snickers, ice cream cones, root beer floats and grilled corn.

Can you believe it is May? I seriously cannot even wrap my head around how fast the year is going by! It is almost the half way mark for 2012 and we have several weddings left for the year that we cannot wait to share with you all. Today, I am so happy to share some snapshots from a wedding that took place a few weeks ago on April 14^th 2012 at Brookside Equestrian in Walnut. It was the wedding of a dear friend of mine so I could not have been any happier to be a part of her big day as her wedding coordinator. Christina and Lincoln wedded in front of 350 of their closest friends and family member. Yes, they have a lot of close friends and family =)

The weather was absolutely crazy the night before with a rain storm making the grounds very muddy and wet. Luckily, God blessed the beautiful day with sunshine and no rain, making their wedding picture perfect! Check out some of their photos from the ceremony and reception. We had built this ceremony entrance and moved in over in Raymond’s truck, which was one of the most nerve wrecking things I have had to do so far.

Last weekend we watched as Lydia and Daniel were wedded in front of 200 of their friends and family at the Montage Beverly Hills. We could not have prayed and received better weather as we consistently watched the weather reports for Los Angeles, hoping for clear skies and no rain in sight. I had worked with the couple for 13 months and could not believe their big day had arrived!

Their dusty pink, grey and white wedding were filled with silver manzanitas, a custom backdrop made with embroidery hoops and lace, custom-built cake pop trees for the dessert station and a cherry blossom tree filled with lucite “leafs” for the escort cards. It was the first time I have ever driven an installation of ours to LA and felt nervous the whole time! I mean who wants to drive a 9′ tall backdrop hanging out the back of their truck bed! Note to self: respect people who drive U-hauls!

In the meantime, I had the honor and pleasure to work with Ann and David for about 8 months on their March 10th wedding last week. It was seriously a perfect day, and everything was incredibly smooth. Ann and David were probably the calmest couple I’ve ever had and it just made the day that much more smooth. For now here are the photos taken from Joanna’s (if you don’t know Joanna yet you will probably hear about her a lot from me) iPhone.

We begin our 2012 weddings tomorrow and I am just thrilled to get back into weddings again! We have so much in store for this year that definitely has been keeping me on my toes. A few updates with the CCL group:

• Robin (lead coordinator) has been meeting with several clients for 2012 so we are both excited to be able to take on a few more weddings than we had last year.
• We’re traveling…but not too far! It will be our first year that we will need to hop on a plane for a few weddings outside of Southern California, and we could not be more excited.
• You will definitely be seeing new faces in our group of talented young ladies. We will be introducing the new members of the team in a few months.
• Union Station is becoming my new home for 2012 as we have many weddings booked with the venue. I don’t know what it is, but I do LOVE the space, architecture and capabilities of the venue.

I’m sure those were enough updates for now. NOW… for the reason why we are all here! Rhysa and Andy were married last year in July at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena. It was a VERY warm summer’s day but the colors matched the season and overall feel for the wedding perfectly.  I met Rhysa and Andy right before I left to China (literally the night before) and we spent the next few months conversing over email about their yellow and gray wedding. Their silhouette-themed wedding was darling, and the guests’ loved the silhouette artist hand-cutting their profiles as one of many favors from the wedding.

Since I did not have the chance to share my New Year’s Resolutions I definitely wanted to share a few (I have 10 total) with you all:

1. Taking time our to work out 5 days a week. I know this sounds a little too much with the schedule I have, but I decided to be strict about my active lifestyle. I remember being able to run 8 races a year. Just last year I was only able to do one, so I thought things needs to change! I have been very diligent making time to put in a little cardio and strength training, even if I have to work out at 1:00 a.m. I will say that I do feel stronger, more energetic and able to go longer in a day than I was last year (I have a lot of energy as it is so this can get a little scary sometimes).

2. Praying everyday. I always loved praying every night before I sleep, and last year was just some tiring that I would fall asleep mid-prayer. I know… I should be ashamed of this. I definitely am making more time each day to give my thanks to  the Lord for blessing me with the life I am able to wake up and live every day. Amen.

3. Give back and volunteer more. If you do know me you will automatically know that one of the biggest things in my life is giving back to the community and others. I have been absolutely blessed with so much this far in my life and believe every one should feel as loved as I have been. Before my main concern was making sure there was more advocacy for women and children in other countries, and that the fight to end hunger and malnutrition was going strong. As much as I do care for those “challenges” I have grown a new concern for the comfort and care for the destitute and dying. I know this sounds a bit dark in a way, but after being by my aunt’s side in China and Thailand during one of the hardest times in her life I realized that there are others who are on the street and not able to live the last days of their lives comfortably. I don’t know exactly how I will become a part of this more, but ask me in a few months and maybe I could tell you =)

I definitely do think that is enough of my new year’s resolutions for now. Expect many great things in store for 2012!  We have lots of weddings ahead of us, and even some already booked for 2013!  I could not be more excited to be working with each and every couple! Be prepared for lots of photos from our real weddings, upcoming projects, giving back and fun finds. I also wanted to share that Robin, our previous coordinator, now a lead coordinator, is back from China missions and will be a part of a lot of the weddings and taking one her own with CCL Weddings!

For now… I will leave you with a bright and cheerful wedding from September of 2011 in Malibu. Their wedding was based around the quote “When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade.” Congrats again to the lovely couple, Esther and Jason!
